A Movement To Reform Fashion

Reformation is a Remake-approved brand. The brand is on our Brand Tracker because, as a fast-growing and values-driven company, we expect them to lead the pack in making commitments to all 7 Actions.

#PAYUP

9-1-20 – Reformation honored commitments to its suppliers during the pandemic, paying in full and on time for all in-production and completed orders.

GO TRANSPARENT

7-15-21 – In alignment with its commitment to the Transparency Pledge, Reformation discloses all of its tier 1 cut-and-sew garment factories. The brand is also starting to go above and beyond this basic ask by disclosing some of its fiber and yarn producers, specifically its viscose suppliers, and is investing in technology and partnerships that allow for full product traceability. This earns the brand a Yellow Slash, showing notable progress.

To receive a green checkmark for Action 3: Go Transparent on the PayUp Fashion Tracker, Reformation must a) additionally disclose the remainder of its tier 2 (fabric producers), tier 3 and tier 4 (raw materials) suppliers; b) disclose the wages of the lowest-earning workers at each factory and c) share audit and remediation reports publicly, and make these findings available to the garment workers in the audited factories.

GIVE WORKERS CENTER STAGE

7-1-21 – Reformation publicly shares which of its factories are unionized and not unionized, which is something that very few brands are presently doing. This information is useful as we will be able to note, by the percentage increase or decrease of unionized factories over time, whether or not Reformation is progressing towards its stated goal of giving workers center stage.

END STARVATION WAGES

7-29-21 – In 2020, by MIT Living Wage Calculator standards, Reformation achieved 100% living wage compliance for its Los Angeles garment factory team. In 2021, the US living wage standard increased by approximately 20%, and the brand thus moved to 56% compliance. We recognize, and give credit to, Reformation for continuing to pursue a living wage for its core team, as well as all of its Tier 1 manufacturing partners.

HELP PASS LAWS

6-16-21 – Reformation publicly supports California Senate Bill 62, the Garment Worker Protection Act, making a strong statement in support of justice for all fashion workers, incuding those in the supplyc chain. For this reason, we’ve given them a green checkmark.
