Missguided is a UK-based fast fashion retailer. For more details on Missguided’s social and environmental commitments, see the Remake Brand Directory.
#PAYUP
There is no evidence that Missguided cancelled orders, delayed payments or asked for discounts from suppliers during the pandemic. But the company also did not issue a public statement indicating its commitment to suppliers either, as many of its competitors did.
GO TRANSPARENT
Missguided has committed to The Transparency Pledge, publicly disclosing its tier 1 cut-and-sew garment factory list, which is a step in the right direction.
But to receive a “YES” for Action 3 on the PayUp Fashion Tracker, Missguided must disclose its tier 2 (fabric mills), tier 3 (yarn and fiber mills) and tier 4 (raw materials) suppliers as well as disclose the wages of the lowest-earning workers at each factory and share audit and remediation reports publicly, and make these findings available to the garment workers in the audited factories.
SIGN ENFORCEABLE AGREEMENTS
The Accord – Missguided has not signed onto the new International Accord on fire and building safety, which requires brands to commit to individual brand accountability for workplace safety in Bangladesh (where Missguided produces some clothing) and expansion of the program into new garment-producing countries. They are on the negative side of our Accord Tracker.
END STARVATION WAGES
Missguided has made no public commitment to pay its garment makers a living wage, nor is there any commitment that it pays any of its own staff or other indirect employees a living wage.
